ST. JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH
LOUISA, KENTUCKY
WHO WE ARE
We, the parish of St. Jude Catholic Church, in union with our Holy Father, our bishop, and our pastor, seek to grow in holiness as a welcoming and caring family reaching out to all. As a faith-filled community celebrating the Eucharist, we strive to enrich our spiritual lives by cultivating a deeper relationship with Christ through the sacraments. We are united in faith and find unity in diversity as we pray for the grace to use our gifts and talents to promote the knowledge of God's grace and love.
HistoryEstablished by Christ in Louisa in 1982, we are a Roman-Rite Catholic Church Parish in the Diocese of Lexington. Since our inception, St. Jude has served the spiritual and practical needs of the people of Louisa for over 40 years. Many of the families who comprise our parish today are descendants of those who established the parish and built our humble congregation. Coming from diverse backgrounds, the members of St. Jude Catholic Church form a parish family striving to follow the path of Christ. We welcome you to join us in worship celebration in the Holy Mass and the Sacraments, in personal prayer, and in service to the wider community. As you pursue Christ and peruse our website, we invite you to become more familiar with what our parish has to offer and hope that you will “come and see” for yourself!

Our Patron Saint
St. Jude Catholic Church, in Louisa, Kentucky, is named after the Apostle Jude. St. Jude was one of the twelve original apostles chosen by Christ to follow Him in the beginning of His earthly ministry. Known also as Thaddaeus, Jude was a brother of St. James the Less, and a relative of Our Saviour. Biblical scholars agree St. Jude was a son of Clopas, and his mother Mary was the Virgin Mary's cousin. Ancient writers tell us that he preached the Gospel in Judea, Samaria, Idumaea, Syria, Lybia and Mesopotamia. According to Eusebius, Jude returned to Jerusalem in the year A.D. 62, and assisted his brother, St. Simeon, who would become Bishop of Jerusalem. St. Jude's New Testament Epistle is one of the most powerful testimonies of his strong faith. In this brief epistle, St. Jude urges Christians to remain steadfast in the doctrines received and he strenuously warns them about false teachers who will emerge to distort the Gospel!
St. Jude's writing reflects a deep Zeal for the purity of faith and a burning desire to protect the Christian Community from heresies and the inevitable and looming spiritual dangers warned about By Jesus Himself in Matthew Ch. 24.
St. Jude has become the Patron Saint of Hope and impossible causes.
The Church celebrates the feast day of Saint Jude on October 28th.
